Career Profile
While finishing my degree at the University of Alicante, I started working at UniMOOC, an online course platform belonging to the university. Although initially employed as a member of the development team during my last year at university, upon completion of my degree, I took up the role as Lead Developer at UniMOOC. I then managed the development team and re-wrote all of the platform's code, of which I have full ownership.
During my last year at UniMOOC, I spent my free time developing TeachVid, an e-learning platform that uses interactive activities with videos for language learning. It started operating in spring 2019 and started to make waves in the language teaching community.
Since December 2019 I have been working alongside Keith Wright with the development of Sweeplift, a startup aiming to improve digital marketing campaigns by optimizing creative and audience effectiveness. I initially built the whole MVP of the platform, and then whent on to work along with the rest of the growing team to build the platform it is today.
Experience
I built the MVP of the startup which was used to start investment rounds and make the company grow into the international team it is now. I have helped design and drive the development objectives to ensure the company reaches it's goals. After guaranteeing our data collection and data security works as expected, I am currently building the whole client-facing admin panel with in-built analytics and reporting.
I designed and developed the platform's architecture, with a view to making it fully scalable. We are continuing to develop the platform's functionality, adding new features and improving user experience, following an iterative development process.
I led the development team at UniMOOC, setting the team's objectives and work strategies. We employed computer science students from time to time as interns at our company, so I also coordinated our future Computer Engineers and taught them how to work as a team to achieve the department's goals.
The company grew five-fold and the technology improved considerably in my time at UniMOOC. I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to work with such a dedicated and hard-working team.
I led development, helping the rest of the team and suggesting new ways to improve and optimize the platforms architecture.
Throughout the year, I redesigned most of the backend to optimize server performance and efficiency (reducing costs by 76%).
During my first year at UniMOOC I learnt a lot about Google Cloud Platform and App Engine, helping with the development of many new functionalities and optimizing existing ones. After having learnt how the company works, it was easy to find improvements that could be made to the platform.
Projects
I have written some App Engine based projects that are publicly available on my github account.
